Support & How‑To

Welcome to NoSyncDJ. This guide shows every screen, what you can do there, and the result you can achieve. Keep it simple, move fast, and build better sets.

Auth Screen (Sign In / Register)

  • Create an account or sign in with your email and password.
  • Switch between Register and Sign In anytime.
  • Goal: unlock the full app and keep your backend session active.

Rack Tab (Your Collection Home)

Build and manage your record collection from one place.

  • See your full collection with record count, cover art, artist, year, and added date.
  • Use search to quickly find records by title, artist, or year.
  • Use the A-Z rail to jump fast to artists by first letter.
  • Swipe a record row to delete it.
  • Tap a record to open Record Editor.
  • Use the + menu to add records in 5 ways: Scan barcode, scan label, search catalog, add manually, or import Discogs CSV.
  • Goal: keep a clean, searchable, performance-ready collection.

Scan Barcode Screen

Point camera at a barcode and import faster than typing.

  • Grant camera permission and scan a barcode.
  • Review matching releases from backend search.
  • Open release details, preview tracks/videos, then import.
  • Goal: add known records to your library in seconds.

Import Discogs Collection (CSV)

Bring in many records at once from a CSV export.

  • Open from Rack + menu: Import Discogs collection.
  • Select a CSV file, map columns, and start import.
  • Choose whether to clear existing library first or keep it.
  • Review import summary: imported rows, unmatched rows, and report file.
  • Goal: migrate large collections quickly with less manual work.

Scan Label Screen

Use camera text recognition for records with hard-to-read or missing barcodes.

  • Grant camera permission and point at the center label.
  • The app recognizes short text tokens and searches matching releases.
  • Preview details, then import selected records.
  • Goal: find and import records using label text, not barcode.

Search Catalog Screen

Power search when you want total control.

  • Search by artist/title/identifier with normal query text.
  • Use advanced shortcuts: a: artist, t: track, i: identifier.
  • Open release preview, inspect tracks/videos, and import locally.
  • Goal: discover and import exactly the release you want.

Record Editor Screen

Fine-tune one record with full control.

  • Create or edit record title, artist, year, and added date.
  • Add/edit/delete songs with track number, duration, BPM, and key fields.
  • Capture, retake, or delete local cover photo with the camera.
  • Add/edit/delete video links and open them.
  • Swipe video rows to add videos directly to Playlist.
  • Delete the full record when needed.
  • Goal: keep each record complete, clean, and performance-ready.

BPMs Tab (Songs)

Set accurate BPMs fast, one song after another.

  • Select any song from grouped record sections.
  • Choose BPM mode: Type (manual value), Tap (tap to tempo), or Listen (microphone analysis).
  • Listen mode can run local analysis or server analysis (based on your Settings).
    • Local analysis can only detect BPM and is less accurrate
    • Server analysis can detect BPM and musical key, and it allows for harmonic mixes
    • For any kind of automatic analysis, the microphone and the engine must be selected in the settings tab
  • Use Reset in Tap or Listen to run another measurement quickly.
  • Goal: build reliable BPM data across your whole library.

Mix Tab (Gig)

Find compatible tracks around one target tempo.

  • Set target BPM with Type, Tap, or Listen.
    • Local analysis can only detect BPM and is less accurrate
    • Server analysis can detect BPM and musical key, and it allows for harmonic mixes
    • For any kind of automatic analysis, the microphone and the engine must be selected in the settings tab
  • The app searches your songs within your configured BPM range (for example ±5).
  • See instant match list for quick next-track decisions.
  • Goal: mix smoother by staying in a playable tempo zone.

Playlist Tab

Turn saved video links into a ready-to-play queue.

  • Play selected items in the built-in player (YouTube supported inline).
  • Auto-advance to next track when current video ends.
  • Swipe queue rows to remove single items.
  • Use menu action to clear the full playlist.
  • If embed is unavailable, open link in browser in one tap.
  • Goal: rehearse sets and reference tracks without leaving flow.

Settings Tab

Control detection, security, and maintenance tools.

  • Audio Analysis: choose engine (local/server), sample duration, BPM range, and preferred microphone.
  • Security: change password, log out all devices, or delete account and all associated data.
  • Maintenance: set backend server URL, restore default server, run metadata re-sync, and generate re-sync reports.
  • Goal: tailor behavior to your workflow and keep your account safe.

Backup

Make copies of your data and cover photos.

To make a backup of your device data just go to Files and locate the folder for NoSyncDJ. Then, copy everything inside that folder to wherever you want your backup.

To restore the backup copy back the files into the NoSyncDJ folder and restart the app.
